JACK finished the Summer Fun Run like a train along with his mates, each delighted with their shiny medals and bottles of water with dinky sports caps.
We had around 1,000 runners in total and the weather held out and, as Jack composed himself after the three-mile jog, he said: 'Dad, I could do it again you know. I could.'

The Gaffer adopted a more sedate approach due to the fact that young Paddy (he's only two) came to a grinding halt shortly after passing the start line and needed carting round.
Unfortunately, I had to stand at the start/finish with my clipboard and look like I knew what was going on. Oh, and chat to football stars as well. Tough job.

I was really grateful to the BBC and Granada Reports for sending news crews.
The kids loved the day, especially finishing to a huge Hollywood-style round of applause and getting their medals from Kenny Dalglish, Marina and Everton striker Victor Anichebe who was a surprise guest. Everton's official website did a nice piece on Victor's support for the event - you can read it here.
It was the fifth Summer Fun Run and the best yet. Let's hope it can continue to grow.

They had a famous FA Cup run in the early 1990s, eventually being knocked out by Crewe 3-1 in the 3rd round. Roly Howard was manager for a record 33 years (1972-2005), although he will always be remembered by some fans as Kenny Dalglish's window cleaner. TV presenter Ray Stubbs once asked: "How's business, Roly?" to which Roly replied "Oh you know - ups and downs."

Former players include Michael Ball (Everton and Rangers) and Stephen Wright (Liverpool and Sunderland). The club motto is 'To Enjoy, Not Destroy.'
