THIS photo of Jack shows him with some of his pals - sister Emily, Jamie Carragher and his dad (I'm the one with slightly less hair but a few more chins).

Oh, and the big-eared chap in the middle is the European Cup, of course. (Was anyone waiting for a gag about Gary Lineker?)
There's a nice story about Jack coming face-to-face with the cup, but that can wait for another day.
Carra, as he's known on the Kop, is probably Jack's favourite Liverpool player and he got to see him in action for the first time in the Premier League on New Year's Day when Liverpool played Bolton.
On Thursday I was at a charity night which had as a star auction item, Jamie's number 23 shirt from that match, framed and signed complete with the scoreline (Liverpool 3, Bolton 0) scribbled alongside it.
Jack would have burst simply to have seen it.
I knew the price tag was going to be well out of my league, so I didn't build up any hopes. Good job. I think it went for around £600 although I was chatting at the time (don't you hate ignorant people who do that?).

It's the second time I've seen one of Carragher's shirts raise cash for needy families in Sierra Leone. Well done to him and the other sportsmen who gave their services or items of memorabilia for the fundraising - John Parrott, Alan Irvine, David Unsworth, Alan Kennedy, Graham Stuart, Mikel Arteta and boxers Steve Collins and Derry Matthews.
Hope I haven't missed out anyone. The night raised more than £10,000.
P.S. Carragher was asked to pick his favourite Merseyside team from a choice of two players for each position. Grobbelaar or Southall? Sheedy or Heighway? Steven or McDermott? Rooney or Owen? And, who would be his Mersey manager - Dalglish or Kendall? Any guesses anyone? Well, Big Nev got the nod ahead of Brucie and, I think, he also chose Sheedy, McDermott, Owen and Dalglish. Apologies if I've got it wrong. I was being bought drinks all night...

They had a famous FA Cup run in the early 1990s, eventually being knocked out by Crewe 3-1 in the 3rd round. Roly Howard was manager for a record 33 years (1972-2005), although he will always be remembered by some fans as Kenny Dalglish's window cleaner. TV presenter Ray Stubbs once asked: "How's business, Roly?" to which Roly replied "Oh you know - ups and downs."

Former players include Michael Ball (Everton and Rangers) and Stephen Wright (Liverpool and Sunderland). The club motto is 'To Enjoy, Not Destroy.'

Southall, Sheedy, Steven, Roo and Kendall as manager. Dalglish was a good manager but he had millions to spend. Kendall was a motivator and made a brill side out of nothing. Evryone knows the Blues were THE side of 80s. Daglish couldn't handle the pressure like Kendall.
